I just find it ironic that this doctor spends half his life lecturing on fitness and health then takes the death shot.
I had a recent discussion with a doctor --- he said he can't prescribe (non prescription) supplements ------ EVEN IF THEY WORK BETTER.
The US medical system is fucked ---- end drug patents ----- the government pays for the research anyway.
He can't "prescribe" them, as in write a prescription and have a pharmacy fill it, but he can certainly give you a list of what supplements to take and you buy them and take them. That's what my doctor did.
And the list - with the doctor's name and practice address on it - was upheld as a medical deduction under IRS audit.
Get a new doctor.
I am not surprised because what happens is people tend to believe too much of the layers of structure we call civilization.
Civilization is a fine line between guidelines, rules, privileges, regulations and laws. It is what gives us order but if too much trust is put into institutions it leads us astray far worse than a chaotic society. That is because sooner or later you can find an equilibrium with a chaotic out of order society to create order. But a society built upon layers and layers of red tape is harder deal with.
Misinformation does more damage than the lack of information which is what is happening right now it real time. And why so many experts are so wrong.
