Welcome to General Chat - GAW Community Area
This General Chat area started off as a place for people to talk about things that are off topic, however it has quickly evolved into a community and has become an integral part of the GAW experience for many of us.
Based on its evolving needs and plenty of user feedback, we are trying to bring some order and institute some rules. Please make sure you read these rules and participate in the spirit of this community.
Rules for General Chat
-
Be respectful to each other. This is of utmost importance, and comments may be removed if deemed not respectful.
-
Avoid long drawn out arguments. This should be a place to relax, not to waste your time needlessly.
-
Personal anecdotes, puzzles, cute pics/clips - everything welcome
-
Please do not spam at the top level. If you have a lot to post each day, try and post them all together in one top level comment
-
Try keep things light. If you are bringing in deep stuff, try not to go overboard.
-
Things that are clearly on-topic for this board should be posted as a separate post and not here (except if you are new and still getting the feel of this place)
-
If you find people violating these rules, deport them rather than start a argument here.
-
Feel free to give feedback as these rules are expected to keep evolving
In short, imagine this thread to be a local community hall where we all gather and chat daily. Please be respectful to others in the same way
I stumbled into a panacea. And take this from a stereotypical dude who hates eating vegetables
Sulforaphane
I recently had mentioned how bad my heart palpitations/pvcs and gerd like symptoms have been.
The first half of today they were pretty bad. I have been doing research and stumbled into anecdotals about people blending up broccoli sprouts into water and drinking it, and their pvcs mostly going away
Sure enough, I did a less potent version while I found actual sprouts, throwing a serving of raw broccoli into a half cup of water and half cup of juice into a blender
This is the best I have felt in days, my palpitations went from dozen every hour to just a tiny few, my bloat is reducing, I took a nap peacefully.
Then I read up on the benefits and studies of Sulforaphane
It cures or helps nearly everything. Skin cancer, heart disease, autism, h pylori, you name it and there is actual evidence to shows it helps or heals entirely. It even has shown anti aging properties in vitro
WHY is this not public knowledge???
Also if you want to try, 1 oz broccoli sprouts has 100x Sulforaphane than ripe broccoli so you can do 1/2 oz broccoli sprouts and 1/2 oz broccoli crowns in the blend and get a way more potent dose. The Sulforaphane releases when it is crushed so this is why you want to blend it instead of just eat it cooked
If you want to eat more cooked though on top of it, probably only increases the benefits. Also kale, bok choy, and other similar greens have Sulforaphane in them too if you want to eat those to further increase the yield.
I am sticking to the blend, because I said, stereotypical dude and I cannot stand the texture or taste of cooked broccoli. The blend was seriously refreshing though and kind of reminded me of matcha
You also want to add a teaspoon of mustard seed powder because Myrosinase. Is the most important substance of the mustard plant and it increases the aborbption and efficacy of the sulforaphane in the broccoli.
Sulforaphane, miracle.
Could be because of how you cook it. Stir frying broccoli quickly so that it still has the crispiness, while also the smokiness is a great way to eat it.
Much easier is to blanch is quickly so its still crispy. Been feedin it to my son who barely eats anything but meat and even he loves it.
But the best is probably stir frying broccoli with thinly sliced beef with some onions.
I guess we have been eating healthy all this time!
Oh my gosh, this is great news. I love Broccoli. I think I just found me a new juice .. thank you and I am so glad you’re feeling better. 👍🙏🏻
I’m glad you found something that works for you. I love some vegetables but most like broccoli and brussel sprouts I’ve never liked. I used to have heart palpitations so bad I went to a heart doctor. After all tests were clear he said it’s from poor sleep habits. I was on blood pressure medication at the time. I stopped taking it years ago and got it down with food and probably a multitude of herbs I was taking. I’ve had gut issues at least twenty years. Much better now. If this doesn’t work look up eating carnivore. Not trying to recruit anyone. Sometimes I eat things I’ve eaten my whole life and I know immediately I can’t eat it again. Also look at a daily dose of vinegar with the mother.
My brother took that a lot when he had prostrate cancer.
Get the high quality expensive stuff.
