I think rather than a minimum wage, there should be a law that requires that the top paid person in a company can't make more than 20x the lowest paid person. If I want to go work for a mom and pop, I should be allowed to choose to make $1 per hour as long as they are no more than $20 an hour. IThen mom and pops can afford to hire people. f United Health wants to pay its CEO $21 million a year, that is fine, as long as the janitors each make $1,050,000 per year. The whole team, from lowest to highest person, should rise or fall together.
I completely understand how economics works, however, I do not believe that you do. Tariffs are a type of tax revenue for the government. Tarriff's have nothing to do with wages. Since the topic of this thread is about wages, I made a comment pertinent to the subject matter of the thread.
"Commie" implies that the government owns the means of production. I am not suggesting that the government should own any businesses, so the statement that you made is inaccurate.
I do believe that there needs to be some regulation of wages to prevent exploitation from greedy executives who exploit their workers. But I don't believe minimum wage is the correct method of regulation. I was suggesting an alternative method of regulation that I believe would be more fair to everyone.
Tariffs -----work better than minimum wage.
This is true.
