The issue with some of the Apocrhphal books are they were written well after Jesus had died and Raised. Some of them are very accurate and should not have been removed(the ones in the old testimate) but some of the new testament books that were taken out were written a good 400 years after Jesus.
The issue with the Gospels is they were written well after Jesus' death. ....
IF that should be the determining factor .... we can throw out a lot more ....
This is not about about faith but about the historical record itself, not whether what is put into words is accurate, truthful, or not.
The sheer fact that a piece of text survives this long, is a miracle in and of itself. Given the fact, it was neglected for so long, the question becomes: what else is there ....
The gospels were written by people who witnessed Jesus’ life, within their lifetimes. They weren’t written hundreds of years later.
That is a lie from the pit of hell.
And why do we blindly trust a bunch of old men in long robes who decided what should or shouldn’t be in the official canon?
Jesus himself quoted from the book of Enoch. But it’s not included? Satan has been deceiving the world from the garden of Eden. And his synagogue has been infiltrating every human endeavor since the time of Jesus. God himself is removing the scales from our eyes and we are seeing the utter corruption and evil that exists all around us.
Arguing a point not made. The point made, as so eloquently put: AFTER certain events, without qualification. Of course it may have been meant to be said, but it was not.

Good point.

Indeed. both issues bring up the question of trustworthiness of what is considered source material, is it not?
