Massachusetts Bill Would Allow Women to
Sell Their Unborn Children

On June 12, the Massachusetts House is expected to vote on a bill that would allow mothers to exchange their children for money---that is, engage in baby-selling—under the name of “parentage equality.” The “Parentage Equality” bill seeks to redefine parenthood. Parenthood is recognized on its natural biological basis, or in cases of adoption, justice for a child who has suffered loss by providing them with a safe, loving home. This bill redefines it on the basis of a “person’s intent to be a parent of a child.” In doing so, it strips all mention of mothers and fathers from parentage law, replacing these vital familial roles with gender-erased language.
A woman bore the 9 month pain and change to her body whether she keeps her baby or not. If she us going to give the child up for adoption I don't see why her contribution merits no financial benefit while the attorney who only drafts the paper work walks away with thousands. I understand you don't want to sell a child, but I just see a disparity and poor excuse to again not acknowledge valuable contribution for a woman's effort. If she shouldn't be paid to bare a child, an attorney should likewise not be permitted to receive financial renumeration for this transaction.
Whatever you incentivize you encourage more of. Surrogates get paid to bear a child for another family, but this bill would allow a mother to exchange her biological child for money. I think it's immoral and lowering human babies to the same level as cattle. Husbands used to be able to sell their wives too and I'm sure they had similar justification to yours.
Well I don't like the idea of selling people. But neither do I like the fact that others who contribute even less to the transaction are the wealth earners if the ordeal.
