Copper thieves did the same to an elevated interstate near downtown San Antonio. It was dark for over a year... took the crews that fixed it about 4 months to pull new wire. Its been working for a few months now. I am betting it won't last a year. Copper is a semi precious metal which is why pennies used to be copper. Then it got to be too expensive to produce a coin that usually got tossed into a container and forgotten about. Thus the switch to Zinc. Been thinking bout stacking copper with my silver. Might as well put a bunch of lead in the vault too I guess.

So which Sandford and sons outfit bought it?
The one who paid off the commies not to notice six miles of copper in their yard.

About time they figured that out. Folks have been doing that in Australia for well over a decade.
