Nope, good guys are not committing evil. They are stopping 99.99999% of evil that the evil people were committing.
They are also putting the spotlight on that remaining 0.00001%
And guess what? That small amount is the least amount necessary to wake all the people.
And guess what else? The 100% of the evil that was being committed for decades of not centuries, you never got to see it, so it never bothered you.
No, there is a significant difference between stopping most of the evil, while some evil still is being done and doing that very evil you claim to be stopping
