If they try to swap out Biden, THEY BETTER HURRY.
There’d be a lot more work to do besides just updating all the 3,000+ county ballot info before they are printed.
This is the one thing most people don’t understand.
The Biden campaign IS NOT ALLOWED to simply HAND ALL THE MONEY IT RAISED to whoever replaces him if he bows out of the race.
As a member of the Biden campaign team, MAYBE Harris could claim it. But Newsom or someone who was never on the Biden campaign team? They can’t have that money.
So if it’s NOT Harris?
THE DEMOCRATS HAVE TO LAUNCH A COMPLETELY NEW PRESIDENTIAL CAMPAIGN TEAM FROM SCRATCH.
I mean that.
FROM SCRATCH. With $0 cash on hand. They have to start the fundraising all over again.
People have this fantasy idea that all the Biden campaign $$$ and personnel would just be swapped over to the new campaign team.
That’s…not how it works.
You are NOT ALLOWED by law to raise money for one particular political candidate and then hand it over to a different candidate. THE FEC WOULD STOP YOU if you were brazen enough to try this.
Wire fraud is illegal. Look it up. You’ll see I’m right.
And that is exactly what this would be.
You cannot raise hundreds of millions for one of your party’s candidates in an election, and then hand that donated money to a different candidate on another newly formed campaign team.
Even assuming Democrats would be dumb enough to try to brazenly hand all the Biden campaign donations to a different campaign, the Trump campaign, the FEC, and a dozen other parties would instantly sue and tie up any transfer of the money in court.
Those of you assuming the money transfer between campaigns would happen FIRST and then Democrats would just lawfare the issue past the election:
Learn how things actually work.
The Democratic Party trying a very massive, very public wire fraud crime in full public view before the 2024 election is not in the cards.
I’m not saying they wouldn’t LIKE to attempt it.
Get it right.
I’m saying their attempt to send the money from one campaign to the other would be blocked, and would be unsuccessful.
AT BEST, it’d take the departing/shutting down Biden campaign weeks, if not months, to refund all the donations so the donors could quickly try to send the money to the new campaign team.
That’d be the only way to not only avoid the civil litigation before the election, but also the criminal wire fraud charges that would result from attempting this.

When do Dems abide by the law?
I was wondering that myself. They just take tax money, funnel it through Ukraine, and spend it on anything they want.
