I imagine the dems have long been running numbers of hypothetical match ups versus Trump and probably came to the conclusion that none of the other candidates would do any better than Gropey Joe would against Trump. If the dems had any type of "ringer" they would have had Gropey resign for "health reasons" and put that person up.

I could only see a last minute swap if the numbers went into the absolute shitter. Like if the debates went so badly they saw a decent bump from Trump. But then that comes with it's own set of problems. Do you see a long shot last minute dem candidate, unless he's an absolute rock star like Obama in his prime, plausibly winning an election against Trump? Is there any indicator the dems have such a candidate on deck anywhere?

My only thought is the dems are going to have to pull another stunt like Covid. Or else get enough illegals to vote for Gropey Joe. My guess is with the illegals and ballot stuffing. Stuff ballots, declare Joe the winner, and ride out the ensuing backlash.
