Kind of off topic, but my father went down to a property down there. He was outside doing yard work, and got stung by something. He immediately went allergic and collapsed. Luckily, he made it to hospital before things got really bad or dead.
What is suspicious is that my father is not allergic to ANYTHING or any bugs. He's in his 70's.
At the hospital, the doctor further said something is going on. 6 people have died in the past week from allergic bug bites. Did they release something nasty?
He's double vaxxed so I'm wondering if this is part it. He never had an allergic reaction to any bug bites and he's been working outside for years. WTF?
Thoughts? Experiences?
He could've been bitten by fire ants. They hurt and are more annoying than mosquito bites. Some people can have bad reactions to them.
When I moved to Austin years ago my 2 year old (at the time) daughter stepped on a mound in our back yard and they swarmed her legs. We had been there a week and had no idea why she was screaming until we saw her leg go bright red. I dunked her in the pool to get them off and my wife asked a neighbor that happened to be outside what we should do. I hate those things.
I'm in East TX now and we don't have fire ants.
You may not have fire ants now, but you will get them in East Texas at some point. Fire ants have taken over the entire southern United States.
Fire Ant Spread in the United States
I feel like they came from Puerto Rico... there used to be huge mounds everywhere in the cow fields. Also apparently there are gators in Puerto Rico now, which is a new phenomenon.
