I was looking at videos of the 2004 Tsunami that devastated Thailand. I wonder... looking at the before and after... if that was something like Hawaii where there was an intentional earthquake that caused the tsunami to wipe out the resorts and allow the rebuilding of 5-star stuff. I've always been curious about that. It's also feasible that hotels simply said, "Well, that certainly was tragic, but that's not going to happen for at least another 10,000 years, so let's build bigly!"
