lets admit it, Many of us sat out local elections when we should have stayed involved.

With the exception of some primaries (I was an independent living in NY state where I couldn’t vote in them) I have voted in EVERY Federal, State and Local election since I was 18 and I’m now 71. When I turned 18 it was the first time 18 year olds could vote in 1972. Prior to that year (during Viet Nam war when 18 year olds were going off to war) you had to be 21.
Same here. 58 years old Ronald Reagan was my first vote. However, if I had known the whole time that our votes didn't matter in the least I may not have wasted my time.
I vote in the rigged elections, not sure how much it matters though.
Nope. I went out and voted for Helen Kerwin, the only race on the ballot. She won. Trump endorsed!!
