Yes, faithful ... to THE LAW.
The ONLY way to demonstrate faith is to KEEP THE LAW.
Everything else is fake faith.
Matthew 5:17-20 --
That is the KJV, but the Expanded Bible is even more clear:
You demonstrate your faith by KEEPING THE LAW.
It is as simple as that.
All this false church doctrine of "good works" or "saved by grace alone" or "saved by faith alone" misses the point.
You demonstrate to whom? Others. God doesn't need a demonstration. Nothing saves you apart from Jesus christ. You can either accept his gift or not. Nothing you do, including following the law saves you. You follow the law becuase you love God. If you sin again, you are still saved.
No, to God.
Says who?
Did you just ignore Matthew 5:19? This is Jesus Himself saying it, not me.
That is the modern church's blasphemy, so I understand why you (and others) would say it.
But the Bible does not say it. Sure, there are verses that are taken out-of-context due to false translations and misunderstandings of the original scripture, but that is irrelevant regarding what the Bible actually says and means.
According to you, a person can just sin and sin and sin and sin some more, and it means nothing. If you say the magic "abracadabra" words, you are in: "Hey G, sorry 'bout dat."
No.
That is a pathetic and childish understanding.
Why would God make a bunch of rules, and then say it doesn't really matter.
"Just kidding! You can do whatever the fuck you want ... but ya gotta say those magic words, or you be screwed!"
That is just stupid.
What branch of harresy are you?
Not the Catholic one.
You seem to be interested in finding a label, so you can dismiss and move on.
You do not seem much interested in discussing/debating these topics.
The term "works of the law" meant rituals, sacrifices and ceremonies.
Galatians is a letter written by Paul to the Galatea. Diodorus Siculus, a Greek historian of the time, said these people were tall, blond, and of very white skin. These people would become the Germans.
Paul had once been a Pharisee, but he repented and turned to Christ.
The Pharisees followed the Tradition of the Elders, which would become the Talmud.
Paul wrote Galatians to tell them to stop their paganism (their "works of the law" -- as in Talmudic law), and return to God by way of Christ. They were Israelites, and he was explaining to them who they were, and how they should worship their God.
Later, the Roman Catholic Church would make "works of the law" their doctrine, which was also wrong.
Paul was basically saying the same thing that Martin Luther would say almost 1,500 years later.
Besides that, you are doing nothing but cut-and-paste, and you offer no analysis or discussion in your own words.
I think it is very disrespectful of you, if I offer my analysis (whether you agree or not), and all you respond with is cut-and-paste. Very disrespectful.
So, I won't bother continuing.
