I contend that it's just a continuation of the Roman gov't / Caesar, but with a 'Christian paint job'. (and we can go deeper if you like, Rev. 17:5)
Throughout history no church has taught more doctrines contrary to what Christ taught than the RCC. That's where I'm coming from.
The true Church = the collective body of all who believe and believe in the Lord Jesus Christ worldwide. It is encapsulated within no human institution on earth.
There are doctrines which are not crucial to salvation and so are not worth dividing over, and there are others which are. To say that a man (the pope) is your mandated go-between to Jesus is one such doctrine.

Nicely put Winn, I agree with this line of thought. Jesus warned about the temple and its teachers.
We have the law given by God. We have the teachings of Christ as our rules and regulations, the teachings of Our savior himself, not a mortal man picked by other mortal men. If and when you need help and guidance connecting with God, go to who God sent for that reason his son.
I’m sure The Father in his infinite wisdom wanted it to be simple for us. As always it’s man’s intervention that brings trouble to most things it touches.
Then you must agree that Christ and not the pope are the head of rhe church because that is also what is taught. Also, I'm still looking for the place it states Peter ever went to Rome. I found Paul did.

Yes!!
Christ is the only head of the Church. We are members of the Body. All of us seated with Christ at the Father's right hand.
Perfectly stated!
Nah dude. True Church started at Pentecost
Yes, as taught practiced by the Holy Catholic Church. Glad we agree.
