The US is a Republic with an emphasis with States rights. This is why President Trump emphasis is on States rights because of what the Founding Fathers believed by decentralizing power. But also it is harder for a foreign power to conquer with subversive methods because of this decentralization.
This is why the formation of the EU would never work if there were not mutual agreements to help other member beyond economic ties. But now the EU bullies around other members with demands beyond economic reasoning while not offering border security for Eastern European countries or settling disputes in the Aegean with Greece and Turkey.

Even with 700k net migrants the UK only managed 0.1% GDP growth in one of the recent quarters.Kalergi is part of it, but it's also for the ruling party to avoid recession.

The standard of living in the UK has fallen hugely in the UK since Brexit but the only way to get labour costs down fast enough is to import loads of cheap labour
