Silver was out in '64 under LBJ. Copper in '82 under Reagan.

Nixon closing the Gold window was the last gasp of the Gold standard, but only for nations with guns. Really ended when they stole the citizens gold in 1933.

There are still things to hate Nixon for though EPA, OSHA, etc. Also wage & price controls, high fructose corn syrup.
