The longer things go on. The more I’m becoming reasonably positive.
The stage is being set to ‘reset’ Western politics. It’s fair to say. Things have essentially been stagnant as far as thought goes for decades. No real progress is made and we run into pigheaded stubbornness clinging to ideas and policy that fail time and time again. And we come up with every reason under the sun both real and imagined as to why this idea or that policy failed. Or backfired spectacularly. Or why it wasn’t a ‘Real’ version of whatever ideology we subscribe to.
We’re getting the many flaws of Republicanism, Democracy, and the Enlightenment laid bare. In a way no one in the West was previously allowed to address, question, or make public observation of. Else they were branded with a moniker of ‘Authoritarian’, ‘Nazi’, ‘Racist’. ‘Statist’ or some other term. Whether it actually fit or not by the critics of their observations.
Are you saying that Nazi's represented societal progress?
Not particularly. They trace their ideological roots to the enlightenment. As do all the political ideologies and ideas of the late 18th, 19th, and 20th centuries. As do the Communists they were such voracious opponents of. Hell there are some pieces of the enlightenment the Globalists use as cornerstones of their ideology.
There was a whole hell of a lot of lot more to the enlightenment thought then Natural Rights, Freedom of Speech and outlining Republican principles and Government. And most ideologies of the past 150-200 odd years. Repackaged and rebranded ideas originally set down in the enlightenment.
What I was more so referring to was the fact meaningful criticism of Republicanism, Democracy, or the Enlightenment. Up until comparatively recently. Frequently got one banished to fringe circles. And often tarred with labels meant to shutdown and delegitimize the Criticism. Even if the criticism was leveled by someone who otherwise supported those ideas.
As the system seeks to protect and reproduce itself. The people are conditioned to react as the immune system. Isolating and cauterizing any potential challenge to the status quo. And the status quo is what morphed into the oligarchic Hegemony masquerading as a Republic the U.S turned into.
For a couple centuries we’ve essentially been stagnant as far as political thought goes. Mostly focused on repackaging and weaponizing some part of the enlightenment. To combat another totally different weaponized portion of enlightenment thinking.
