Why pass another whatever when the current whatever isn’t being enforced? There are already controls in place to keep people from insider trading and profiting off their office but they are ignored. I know because I have to submit a financial statement annually explaining all possible conflicts of interest for my gov job.
Congress is specifically exempted from those rules.
A lot of people want a constitutional convention, and i only support it if the amendment is "all laws created have equal force for any person, place, or function of government".
Let's see how hawkish they are about disarming the citizens when their security details have to use garden hoes to patrol NYC.
I think that's a valid point held up against ANYTHING repugnant to the Constitution...and there's a hell of a lot against the Constitution...
Really getting sick and tired of the 2 tiered justice system...lack of enforcement for those making the big decisions, and we have to obey every nitty-gritty horseshit ordinance these aholes come up with or get locked the F up...
What worries me is if after all this time, these fuckers steal this election again - and nothing but a strong worded letter goes out in response - I'm gonna lose my shit...
Looks like they're moving on what they started a year ago?

Election right around the corner. After the election this goes away until the 2026 elections and then it resurfaces. PLEASE play some other card!
Add their family members in there too.
They have passed it before and secretly in the middle night repealed it - its all for show.
So their kids will do it for them, or some stooge for a percentage of the profits. The thing is to monitror their finances. If they buy a $300,000 Bugatti, follow the money.
I'll believe it when it's passed. It's how they all got rich.
Good luck getting it passed. Too many officeholders doing this.
It'd suprise the hell out of me... let's not forget RvW so... miracles happen
Be nice if there was a way to justify this on purely Constitutional grounds and get the SC to rule on it. I have little hope of the legislature voluntarily shutting off their primary wealth spigot.
This gives them the excuse to get out of the stock market with their ill gotten gains!
