A football field's distance away, at 20 years old, with glasses (it looks like?), on irons and he managed to get that close?
I know experienced shooters will say that's not much to them, but the story we have so far doesn't exactly paint a picture of someone who spent significant periods of time practicing his aim. Honestly some are painting him as a bit of a nerd.
Dunno... but I can tell you, I do 3" groupings at 150 yards using the iron sights on an 80 year old M1 that got abused "real good" in battle, as indicated by the gouge marks on the furniture... and I'm not 20.

The fact that you're not twenty implies that you have experience and practice under your belt, which is what I'm saying.
He's young and seemed to have been a nerd.
How in a post COVID, post-Biden world was he able to even afford the ammunition to get enough experience fresh out of school?
Picture on NYPost is showing a scope, not irons anyway."An example of it", well goddamn stop plastering it all over then. The media handling of this is tremendously awful.
Yeah, shooter for sure didn't know what he was doing, thankfully. 150 yards with iron sights on a stationary target is easy.
