lol that’s literally a cops / SS agents JOB is to run towards the sounds of gunfire: to run INTO danger. Nowadays, who knows what happens, but I would hope that in the past, cops who showed cowardice on the job would be quickly stuck behind a desk permanently or otherwise removed.
