It's because Merrick Garland just gave Jack Smith the job of Special Prosecutor. It is a high level example of a DEI hire, Smith fails to meet the criteria for the office and Garland ignored the correct and legal way to appoint anyone into this office. The Senate makes the rules regarding Special Counsel, not the DOJ and not some skivvy democrat. Smith and Garland have failed on every point.
