The comparison to Hitler was in 2016. Opinions, events, and people have changed since. There's room for optimism.
Hard to have faith in anyone whose judgment was so bad, such a short time ago.
So, he had no fucking sense in 2016, and was chasing the good old RINO establishment clout, and you think he ACTUALLY changed? He is the epitome of a fair weather friend. "Oh look, the country loves Trump now. So do I!!!" He was playing politics then, and he's doing it now. The last damn thing I wanted was a wishy washy politician.
This. I was down on Trump until about halfway through the primary season in 2016. I thought he was pompous, childish, and immature. Also, I saw him as a former democrat and democrat supporter who hobnobbed with people like the Clintons, and Chuck Schumer.
I started to see that he was the only candidate we had who could get down in the gutter and beat Hilary at her own game. I originally was rooting for Dr. Ben Carson, but quickly found out that he was too nice face the evil that the democrats would unleash against whoever was chosen.
When I saw how much effort the RNC was putting in to keep him out, along with the entire Bush family being more concerned about the Republican party, than they were with fate of the United States, that pretty much locked my decision to support Trump.
Don Jr., Tucker Carlson, and Steve Bannon all have recommended Vance. That's good enough for me, for now.
