But Christ alone was resurrected. Praying to Mary and the Saints deifies them. Apparently I'm getting Catholics downvoting me. None of this is Biblical, yet the Catholic church had to appeal to the Romans' pagan proclivities. Christmas is originally the festival for Saturn, with Christ's birth tacked onto it. Easter is the festival for Ishtar, the goddess of fertility (hence the imagery of eggs and rabbits and such). I'm not saying we shouldn't celebrate Christmas or Easter, but praying to dead people as Catholics do is polytheism.

I'm not Catholic anymore. Lol. I went to at least 5 other faiths - I'm not a structured anything person. I have a deep abiding faith in God Almighty and my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. The rest of my beliefs are a mishmash of my own - I pray for clarity, guidance, and the strength to do His Will. I know in my gut what's right and wrong. And that is what I live by. I am old and I've lived thru a decent bit. I no longer really care what anyone else thinks. You feel turning to the Mother Mary to pray for guidance as a mom is deifying her? Ok. Don't pray to her for motherly assistance. I'm here to walk MY path. And you are here to walk YOURS. I am willing to support anyone needing a lil strength on the way, but when my judgement day arrives, I am the only person liable for my actions. And I am not answerable for anyone else's actions or choices or beliefs in this life.
