Somehow an American Engineering firm was brought in to assess the dams construction. The Americans started looking over the sight and asking questions. The anchor points were getting buried and they asked chinese officials to stop and let them look over these critical areas before they are buried. The Americans were worried the anchor points were not adequate. The Chinese officials ( pride) was hurt and they told the Americans it was fine. The Americans said we cannot properly assess the dam if we cannot look at the work being done. The chinese just wanted the Engineering firm to rubber stamp their assessment for American investors. They packed up and left. No one ever was able to assess the dams construction except for the Chinese themselves. This debacle is 1000% on the chinese and their Pride! What is that biblical saying? PRIDE GOETH BEFORE THE FALL. the Birge Califfa ( tallest building in the world) had American Engineering firms scrutiny the entire time it was being built. Every single cement truck had its cement mix checked. The elevation of every floor was measured and confirmed. It was checked, and checked during its entire construction. Why, so it would not fall down. In China nothing of the sort was done for the three tofu dams.
