I think there are bright people who are not conspiracy theorists. Their minds just work in a different way. I have found someone like that on YouTube and I find it difficult to keep away.
He is obviously well-read and can demolish a book in hours. However, I think he needs to because he seems unable to take in a set of disparate facts and join them up into a story. He needs someone else to join the dots for him and then he has the whole thing down.
It is fun to watch but very frustrating. What Yuri Bezmenov said about showing people facts is completely true. Their mind is made up and what they see and hear that does not fit the narrative does not matter.
As a once IT guy, I spent my life working the other way round. People would know all kinds of details and I would be expected to join them all together and arrive at a coherent solution.

In that case, I'm a very stable genius.
