Vance seems to have similar views on many things as Trump does. It is kind of an insurance policy. If anything should happen to Trump then the DS will still have the same problems to deal with.
If, on the other hand, Trump had chosen another Pence then the DS would have been motivated to get the VP into the top job.
Also, note how the VP was named at the start of the week so as to preempt anything that may have happened during that week.
I don't doubt him, I didn't really care to begin with because it didn't change who I'm voting for. My bar was so low it's just his vo could not be someone who backstabbs him like pence
Vance has come around I believe. I believe is is America First. At least on the things that are important in the now. Where he hasn't, well that can be hashed out later. Meet in the middle or put it to a vote.

To me it is very simple. You’re with Trump or your not. His VP pick is important, but not so important that you have doubts in his choice.

TBH I trust Trump enough that if he picked Hillary as his running mate, I'd still vote for him.
