Because much like the rest of the current Western European Monarchies. The Crown is kept around to give unearned legitimacy to Parliaments/Governments that frankly haven’t been much better than the hereditary lords they were supposed to keep in check. Especially in the modern era.
The instances that prompted the American Revolution for instance. Weren’t actually prompted completely King George being a tyrannical ass. Though he certainly didn’t help anything. It was mostly the English Parliament.
The King however was a helpful lighting rod for the founders to direct colonial anger at. Rather than diffused responsibility of blaming an elected parliament. And it makes a convenient Historical Narrative for a burgeoning Republic that doesn’t paint the idea of elected Governments in a bad light.
The only countries in Europe that remained Monarchies where the Royal families actually had duties beyond being a rubber stamp and ceremonial roles. Either found themselves on the loosing side of WW1 with Woodrow Wilson explicitly going out of his way to ensure the destruction of those monarchies. Or they were betrayed by their allies and overthrown ala Imperial Russia.
It's hard to take the British monarchy and Parliament seriously when they are doing so little to oppose the migrant invasion in their land. They seem to be all about appeasement and letting the invaders run wild with impunity, fearing to be seen as somehow "racist" if they opposed the invasion.
