All persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and the State wherein they reside.
subject to the jurisdiction means subject to the laws of the country. Someone on a tourist or student visa is still subject to the laws of the USA because they can be arrested and prosecuted for breaking the law then deported after serving their sentences.
Only diplomats “Under Diplomatic Immunity” And invaders are not subject to the jurisdiction. illegal immigrants fall under the invaders category.
That's quite a stretch. Why would the framers put subject to the laws of that country when it's common sense that if you're visiting any country you are subject to their laws while you're visiting except for things like tax law. If a Frenchman were visiting he is still a citizen of France, thus subject to French law. If France wanted him returned for breaking French law like tax evasion, he'd be returned.
A person is subject of the jurisdiction he’s currently in unless he’s a diplomat or an invader.
It has nothing to do with citizenship.
If that frenchman is not a diplomat and committed a crime while visiting the USA he’s subject to the jurisdiction of the USA. If France wanted him the USA will send him to France because they have an extradition treaty that’s it.
If he was a Chinaman he’s subject of the jurisdiction he’s in (USA), even if china wanted him USA will not send him to China because they don’t have an extradition treaty.
So the only way we can preserve our country is to refuse all female visitors because they could have a baby? And all visas should contain a warning that if you give birth while visiting France, your child is french and could be refused entrance into the US. The only way we can protect ourselves is to refuse entrance to any child bearing age woman. That's simply weird.

If both parents were not French gave birth in france the child WON’T become a french citizen. The child must reside for at least 5 years and be 18 years old when applying. Europe has different laws than USA, you can become resident and get government benefits even if you were not a french citizen, you just need to be in the country LEGALLY.
