I think Mr Pool is controlled opposition. He appeared suddenly and when others were having their viewers dropped, they were getting demonetized, etc. Mr Pool shot way up with a huge following and was never jacked with. So, who is his handler?
Interesting analogy. However, I can't help thinking of one daring chess move occasionally offered by the masters of today and yesterday: the Queen sacrifice. When I used to play competitively, I had a chance to observe others. Although I never was in the same room with Kasparov, I was always amazed by his "side moves." In the heat of battle, he would move some insignificant piece on the other side of the board, such as a pawn, and it would leave his opponent thinking: "Why we he do that?!" And then boom, out of nowhere comes a checkmate. There are many comparisons that could be made with the political climate of today. It's downright fascinating.
Huhhhh?

Technically, the King does not fall nor get captured. The King remains on the board in the state of checkmate, under attack, and unable to move.
