A lot of Modern Evangelicals aren’t necessarily consistent voters and don’t regularly head to the polls.
So one way of interpreting it. “If you help me over the finish line. I’m going to fix this country to the point you won’t need to worry about doing something you hate doing in the first place.”
Another way. “After this next time. You won’t have to plug your nose and vote for me or my preferred successor because I would have fixed things.”
That of course being a reference to him being a less than “Model Christian” which some Evangelical Christians have had a problem with.
There’s also the obvious Caesar implication. Which to be brutally honest. After the initial shock and As long as he and his heirs respected the Bill of Rights and the rights of the citizens and kept Taxes to a minimum/non-existence. I don’t think most of the country would honestly care what whoever sat their ass in the fancy chair in Washington was calling themselves.
There’s of course the Ingersoll Lockwood book “Last President” where a Socialist Congress more or less seizes control of the country via a somewhat naive young populist president. Some have interpreted it to be a prophecy of sorts.
Some who claim to be in the know have dropped various vague references as to what he was really referring to.
With some inferring a reformation of Government and a reorganization of the executive branch under a new name to break with the sordid history of the position and the less than stellar pasts of many who’ve occupied the post.
Others claiming a vague solution involving AI in some capacity. So on and so forth. With all different flavors of conspiracy and theory being indirectly referenced.
