I hate this. Good warfighters being used up on a shit war. There’s no way to be okay with it. Even with Ukraine being completely corrupt, even if you want to see them lose, we’re burning through blood and treasure for them, and so are the Brits.
Have the French won any battles after Napoleon? How have the British done since their empire crumbled? What are they doing in Ukraine? What do they have in Ukraine that they want to keep hidden?
Actually leading up to the brits “evacuation” at Dunkirk, it was the French who fought the rear guard action and allowed them to escape.
My Grandfather was among those who were evacuated, it was his last action in the war.
He was not very flattering towards Churchill, who he described as a drunk and a letch. Churchill threw them under the bus when he refused peace terms from Hitler. Hitler could have destroyed them all, but allowed them to escape.
My grandfather never understood why he did that, his only reasoning was that hitler was also a frontline troop who saw no honour in killing with artillery.
The “surrender monkey” and tanks with 5 reverse gears tropes are English defence mechanisms.
