Islam refers to Isa (Jesus) as a prophet, but they deny His divinity, deny that He was crucified, and thus deny that He rose from the dead, thus denying salvation.
In the Islamic end times prophecies, Isa will break the cross and will assist the Mahdi in converting the world to Islam.
And the Quran states on the last day every Muslim will be given a Jew or a Christian to kill to earn their way into paradise.
The irony should not be lost that, of all the major religions, official Islam has the most respectful rejection of Jesus in his full divinity and Lordship. It's still a rejection that warrants judgment, but all other things being equal its somewhat respectful.
Yet the Islamic world is precisely the same people that we as American Christians have been convinced for so long to hate and fear the most, religiously and geopolitically speaking.
Muslims believe that God sent many prophets carrying divine teachings to all nations, and that Jesus was amongst those. They believe in one almighty, perfect God, not one that can be reduced to the shape of a bipedal animal, and thus reject the 3-in-1-in-3 mumbo jumbo that post-Jesus crowds came up with.
As you rightly stated, they also believe that Jesus was raised/saved by God, who replaced him with a lookalike, and that lookalike was crucified. They believe that Jesus shall return.
Jesus is a respected profit in that religion.
We shouldn't be going to war with anyone...
