NC is trying to mimic California then. The prices are outrageous and up until a couple of weeks were selling as fast as they went on the market. Completely stalled currently as more and more houses with insane prices are flooding the local market by the hour. Within 48 hours the asking price starts to drop, first by around $10k but over the last couple of days I’ve noticed drops of 30-50k. There’s a housing crash coming I sense
Its been that way in Canada for a few years. 10 years ago you could buy a dilapidated house ready to fall down for half a million today that same house is a million.
My husband and I retired so we decided to go to a place where cheap houses were for sale we bought ours for 89,900. Right after we bought it houses skyrocketed here because they are coming up from the cities buying places now our house is worth 280,000.
We thought of selling for a huge profit but the problem is where would we get another house for 89,900. We could go further north I guess but we like the island.
Facts, where I live a house that was built in the 50's & sold for $8,000 is now close to $700k. Im not talking that the house was completely upgraded as well. Throw in the taxes betweem $10-$16k & 7% int. No one can afford it except all these middle easterners that move 5 families in.

...highly probable...
How about build more housing and stop all illegal and legal immigration
...unfortunately that will not happen...
...the lack of potential "kickback" makes this concept unfeasible...
Prices still pretty reasonable in Oklahoma.
...Oklahoma is OK...

And as stated above, you don't get much for your one million dollars-especially in CA.
...exactly...
Let them keep them
