Palestinian rivals Hamas and Fatah signed a unity deal in China 8-days ago, after 3 days of talks. The goal was to unify Hamas and Fatah, and trying to establish national reconciliation for Palestinians.

The head of Hamas would have been primary to passing any unity deal.

I guess someone doesn't want Palestinians to unite.
