Correct me if I'm wrong, her mother's student visa was expired when she was born.
We are seeing the resction how he's made people aware how she's not black. It makes Megan the Stallion obvious pandering even moreso than it was already.
If Kamala can't run because she's an anchor baby, then anchor babies can't logically vote for her either.
Does this revoke what Obama did dropping Somalians in Minnesota?
They have Limited Personal Property....
They have their own TeePee, Horse, Food. etc, but ALL of the Lands are owned Communally, so where one makes a Garden, pretty much everyone gets a piece of what grows....
Hence the ones that fight hard to build Casinos, and do it in a way that really fucks the rest of the Tribe, as the Money stays IN the Casino, and rarely is given to the Members of the Tribe....
It's a fucked system, but there will come a time when it can be corrected....
I know people that live on the Rez in Calif and they do pretty well for themselves if their tribe has a casino.
The ones that don't, own their own homes and the land around it. The restriction is that the land cannot be sold outside tribal membership so as to not dilute the overall reservation land holdings.
The really screwed up part is when the Feds decide to lease tribal got land to outsiders for grazing or mineral extraction (oil, nat gas, coal, etc) and the Feds shortchange the tribes on the money generated from the leases. All the while telling the tribes they can't handle the leasing process themselves so the Feds have to do it.
I was born and raised outside the Rez so I am not 100 percent familiar with everyday regs there. My family lost property rights to one Rez when they moved away in the 40's.
I don't know, but Two different Rez about 50 miles apart, one does Artisan works an sells their goods roadside, the other has a Casino....
The ones that sell things, have a steady life, not a rich life, but comparable to most other New Mexicans, and yes, Drunks just like most other New Mexicans....
The ones with a Casino, are rarely at the Casino, never as employees, an if rumors are true, most of them are straight up drunks or on some heavy drugs....
I don't know, I o gamble, but it's like once or twice a year, but I'll buy hand made stuff weekly if I have the Money....
The money does tend to corrupt many people.
One big reason that casinos are a double edged sword.
There is a very vocal faction in my tribe that wants a casino but current tribal government does not and I am fine with no casino.
The money can solve a lot of pressing issues but it can also be a huge burden and I know it would end up tearing apart families and relationships.
During my last trip through the desolate parts of the Navajo reservation I purchased a few items from a roadside vendor. I'd rather buy directly from the artisan than from some shop that has no connection to the items.
I got to ask her questions about the items she had for sale and the significance of each piece I was interested in.
Yup, next time I'm home, and I go near there, I'll be making some requests on Ring designs, and such....
And maybe, some Furniture....
