This happens because I think people who are pro gun rights communicate the value incorrectly.

A lot of pro gun people focus way too much on protection of property from criminals.

This is not why we have the 2nd amendment in my view. The purpose of owning guns is to be a fail safe to an oppressive government.

If they were to take away our guns. The guns don't get destroyed.

They are simply transferred to a small group of elites.

Those elites also have power to the legal system. So owning guns is to make them think twice about over stepping their boundaries.

It’s right there in the 2nd Amendment.
