The idea that this is emanating from the central government is ludicrous (from other comments here). This is interesting to me, as I have run across a small number of video Tik-Tok clips of former Muslims testifying to their conversion story of becoming a Christian. A recurrent theme was the realization that the Christian god was a loving god, as contrasted with the rigid and unforgiving Islamic god. The spiritual relief was worth risking exposure and death.
