There are about 60,000 different parasites. Many cross the blood-brain barrier and influence how we behave.

Look into the cat parasite Toxoplasma Gondii as mentioned above. They claim it doesn't affect humans, but it appears to be closely related to Alzheimers, Homosexuality, Schizophrenia and most importantly, Crazy Cat Lady Syndrome. 😉
