Welcome to General Chat - GAW Community Area
This General Chat area started off as a place for people to talk about things that are off topic, however it has quickly evolved into a community and has become an integral part of the GAW experience for many of us.
Based on its evolving needs and plenty of user feedback, we are trying to bring some order and institute some rules. Please make sure you read these rules and participate in the spirit of this community.
Rules for General Chat
-
Be respectful to each other. This is of utmost importance, and comments may be removed if deemed not respectful.
-
Avoid long drawn out arguments. This should be a place to relax, not to waste your time needlessly.
-
Personal anecdotes, puzzles, cute pics/clips - everything welcome
-
Please do not spam at the top level. If you have a lot to post each day, try and post them all together in one top level comment
-
Try keep things light. If you are bringing in deep stuff, try not to go overboard.
-
Things that are clearly on-topic for this board should be posted as a separate post and not here (except if you are new and still getting the feel of this place)
-
If you find people violating these rules, deport them rather than start a argument here.
-
Feel free to give feedback as these rules are expected to keep evolving
In short, imagine this thread to be a local community hall where we all gather and chat daily. Please be respectful to others in the same way
Just trying to get my mind off things, wanted to listen to something wholesome
if you don't know the story behind "who is R.A. The Rugged Man" well lets just say this crusty white guy made a song with one of the most iconic rappers (Notorious B.I.G) and almost got them fired from their record label for working with him. He was and there is proof behind this today absolutely banned from having any form of media support - and in the 90s as a rapper if the media wasnt playing you, you didnt exist. He was a wild dude in his young days and was thrown off his label and considered an "Extreme liability" lol
As the years went by, ne never gave up and in that personal war he had to fight he also found clarity and is no longer the same crazy dude labels wouldnt touch and has a huge following, with many iconic rappers now coming out and admitting they wanted to work with him and the labels said NO
that said - he made this song for his daughter. the intro is a video he fimed right after she was born, then saved it for THIS music video.

if you're a father (or a mother, but it's some dad shit lol) - you will probably love this song, frens.
sometimes the Great Awakening for one person might never be political in any form. This man found his, i'd say.
I liked it ❤️
i felt like that backstory helps appreciate the song
every man can have sex and become a father but it takes a real one to be a DAD and he knew what was important n became the man he had to be for that
but glad you enjoyed it fren!
Yes reading the prelude you wrote before listening made it more real. We need more men in this world to realize what an impact they have on their children’s lives.
