Hello All. I’m 58 and close to retirement. I have a pension and 401k with current employer. I’m tempted to retire now and take my money and run. I am concerned that if Trump wins, nevermind societal upheaval, I believe the powers that be will wreck the economy on purpose. If he doesn’t win, I am concerned that the economy will get worse anyway. Does anyone else feel this way? Granted, I am biased because I want to retire anyway and work at a car parts store.

Just remember the dollar is bound to become more and more devalued.
I believe a crash is coming.
But I have more conviction that dollars will be worthless.
I'd trust the plan, hold onto what you own, I think as dollar devalues youll be better off than if you sell now. My advice is to set aside 3 more years of struggle for yourself before you retire. By then everything will be better. (I hope)
Worth less. Yes
You still have assets though. The people who lost most during Weimar were the ones who took the cash.
If your retirement portfolio is houses and oil and other assets.
You end up going down, then up, then you end up with true value in the end.
If you want to try to time the tops and bottoms thats on you. But I am not that smart.
