So where does the 16th amendment to the Constitution come in to play?
If income tax is not a law then what does this say?
I am confused.
Article I, Section 8, Clause 1:
The Congress shall have Power To lay and collect Taxes, Duties, Imposts and Excises, to pay the Debts and provide for the common Defense and general Welfare of the United States; but all Duties, Imposts and Excises shall be uniform throughout the United States; . . .
Yes they have the power… They have to pass a law first though.
Can anyone please find the law? For a long time there was a $50,000 reward for anyone that could prove it.
Legalese is not my strongest suit but I do know that specific words have very specific meanings and not-meanings. "Wages" vs "Income" seems to be the sticking point.
Btw thank you for the comment u/barbie555.
I don't give two figs whether anyone agrees/disagrees with me or the OP, in fact the disagreers are arguably a bit more fun. 🤪
The discussion and exchange of info and ideas benefits everyone. It's the grain mill of truth.
Ah yes, their gobbledygook speech & written word. Ever wonder why they require newspapers to print articles in plain easy 8th grade level English and why we can’t understand the bills, regulations & guidelines they write or speak? We hear it and read it, but it doesn’t mean what we think it means. Then they put what the bill is in the title example: “Inflation Reduction Act” But in reality it’s not. They do this to mock us. “Affordable Care Act…” They do this to MOCK us.
P.S. Newspaper print easy to understand language because they want us to be indoctrinated & trust them.
Is this what them Sovereign Citizens lot keep banging on about? We have them here in England and they get nowhere because there is no political will to not collect taxes and if the courts cede to their points the entire system crumbles etc. So it's all a lie and farce we all have to continue to play along with as the state mugs us for money every year lol
I had no idea the Sovereign Citizens movement existed in the Kingdom of England. I thought the King was your sovereign and you were stuck like that until you have a revolution.
People reeeallly dont wanna pay tax so they use any movement or policy they can to try and get out of it lol especially after local council tax just went up 15% this year after the council went bankrupt by a corrupt CEO who walked off with a 400k pay off and now us residents have to bail them out whilst they cant even collect our bins on time ffs!!! And thats of course whilst dodging the machete attacks and grooming gangs lmao.
Yup, you'll enjoy the dig on that one. There are a number of things that must be done EXACTLY a certain specific way for a Constitutional amendment to be legitimately ratified. If any of them is not done, the amendment is not ratified. Several were not done in the proper way with the 16th, you'll find. For example, the wording must be exactly—to the letter and punctuation—what was passed by the Congresscritters. No exceptions or deviations allowed at all, or it's null and void.
We've been scammed for over 100 years on just this one thing, the income tax.
It's not true, it was both passed by Congress and ratified by 42 of the then 48 states (only 36 were required for the amendment to be ratified). The ability of the government to collect income tax has been examined, clarified, and upheld multiple times by the Supreme Court and Federal courts. Please, for your own sake, doing listen to these people and pay your taxes so you don't end up with a huge tax bill or jail time.
Pretty sure the taxes are not uniform because of the income brackets being assessed differently. Also we’re not paying any debts, we’re just paying interest and keep running up the debt. The border isn’t secure and the overall welfare of the people is getting worse under current administration.

Hate this place so much.
That 16th amendment was never legally ratified. It is a sham and a vicious assault against the Founding Fathers' vision of a free nation.
Thanks ZeroDeltaTango I was not aware of that... interesting.
