This may be my last year. I changed schools to give it one more shot, and two weeks in, I'm already losing my mind. I'm nowhere near retirement, but I will not make it another twenty years in this profession. I need to just start over. Teaching has become a nightmare.
There are a lot of good opportunities for former teachers. Upon my retirement, I started my own tutoring business using social media for free advertising. I am now in demand, working more hours than when I was working full time, and with my pension, making more than my last year. At your present age, I know a lot of teachers who quit after 10+ years and are now in management or ownership of small businesses in my county.
Thank you for the encouragement. I may be asking you for more advice at some point. I think most teachers feel like there are no other options and just suffer through it. But I need a new path. Glad to hear you have found success!
