Understood. Even so, the 2nd amendment should still be enough.
Declaring your weapon (i.e. ensuring that it is publicly viewable) is a burden that is not necessary, or in other words, an infringement on a basic right.
It is no less burdensome than requiring that people display their party affiliation, or their religion, or business purpose, before exercising the right to speak or to assemble. The fact that the public has allowed that the right to carry a weapon comes with the burden of registration and display for a long time doesn't change the fact that it's wrong, and clearly unconstitutional.
Enforcing good laws is always better than passing new redundant ones.
I don't know any carry laws that require registration of weapon.
I don't either. I shoehorned registration in there as being another infringement that we already live with.
