Exactly.

I never got into the Pokemon games, but watched the TV series a lot in my youth. It's true Pokemon's market dominance was making Nintendo/Game Freak overconfident and thinking they could keep cutting corners with Pokemon, until Palworld came along and shocked the world with record breaking pre-order sales in the first few months! A worthy challenger to Pokemon has stepped forth, and Nintendo is not ready to let their biggest cash cow get dethroned in the market...

Hilariously ironic considering Nintendo ripped Pokémon off of Dragon Quest, which was created an entire decade prior to Pokémon being created/released. Plebbit link to relevant meme and discussion
