I dunno, I'm a gamer and I never even heard of it. Then again, I don't do TV so not sure where the marketing budget was spent. Edit: Let me add I'm a PC gamer, so if this was a playstation game that would explain why I never saw the ads.
It was also PC, we saw the numbers through Steam's stats that it had less than 100 players during the first week. Less than 100 players online for a multiplayer-only game. By week two Sony shut down the game and issued refunds which is also unheard of.
The reason we're seeing the change happen faster in games than in movies and TVs is because games have a much shorter production cycle. For example the woke movies still coming out around now were probably written by 2019, filmed in 2022, went through editing and special effects and possibly reshoots through 2023, and are just now being released (though some got shelved and written off because they realized how badly they'd be received.)
As far as games go this and that other woke flop Dustborn had absurdly long development cycles, 8 years and pretty inspired entirely by 2016 TDS.
It’s way more than $600 mil. Her speculation is 200 mil for the studio they bought + 400 mil in production and development. What she forgot?
Marketing.
That’s easily another $100-200 mil in advertising, and that’s a low ball figure.
Wouldn’t be surprised if this shit show was closer to a billion $ loss.

More than likely, it is a 2 billion dollar loss. Either way, it is only a drop in the bucket for Sony.
Like many of their past failed video game endeavors its a tax writeoff
Seems like a nice money laundering scam
What will happen in movies.
Miniorites will get scaled back big time for awhile.
It will be like a reset.

I agree.
The woke shit in movies and games will end at some point.
I am glad they actually did this. Because it has helped us win the culture war.
