I think in Ruby & Co case there were at least three machines, but yes, if you count by hand you'll need more people than machines I assume. But still doesn't mean they can't cheat.

When you count with a machine you rely on ONE machine.
When you count by hand you rely on MULTIPLE people.

You can always attempt to cheat.
The question is always how likely are you to succeed?
Machines make it more likely. Humans make it less likely. I can't offer you perfection.
If they're counted by hand I don't want Ruby counting them.
