I might be of the minority, but if Bieber, Usher, and even Brand came out- Confessed their sins publicly and accepted any sort of punishment, I think we can try to forgive. As long as they are forthcoming.
Brand has some explaining to do, but he has done his part in red pilling.
We all make mistakes, sin, and only through God's grace are we forgiven. Bieber man, that kid was SO young when he was handed to Diddy. His parents need to be strung up.
There is nothing worse than child predators. Nothing. But those predators are usually made through trauma of the worst order.
Justice must be done. But shouldn't there be consideration for those who were groomed to be this way intentionally?
I don't know what to think about this. Would love some opinions.
Someone puts a gun to his head and tells him to do something illegal and horrifying while the cameras are recording.
Celebrity chooses to live and follows the instructions
Does #3 somehow preclude this person from hearing the gospel and responding to the gospel? No, as far as I understand what the Bible teaches, the person’s past sins don’t disqualify them from what Jesus did. There’s a really important personal lesson here that we are tempted to say, “I’m not as bad as that.” Or “I was never that bad.” The truth is that I sinned. Im no better than anyone else and have no hope apart from God’s grace in Jesus.
This thread and forum see a lot of cries for justice and that the law should be upheld. From a Christian standpoint, it is important to distinguish concepts of salvation, Christ’s forgiveness, our forgiveness toward others, individual retaliation, God’s justice, and a government upholding justice. That is to name some nearby concepts. The Bible has a lot to say on those things so we should take care and recognize the nuance.
