The real reason Pete isn't in the hall of fame isn't because he bet on baseball. He had a 15 year old "girlfriend" and mlb didn't want to tarnish the name of their greatest hitter so they said he bet on baseball to cover this up
I’m of the age when I played little league, every practice we were encouraged to be like Pete Rose. Hustle, hustle, hustle. Full speed to first even if you hit the ball right into someone’s glove. I sucked at baseball, but I did learn to hustle. lol

I second your sentiment. I was never that into baseball, but stopped watching after that.
