Welcome to General Chat - GAW Community Area
This General Chat area started off as a place for people to talk about things that are off topic, however it has quickly evolved into a community and has become an integral part of the GAW experience for many of us.
Based on its evolving needs and plenty of user feedback, we are trying to bring some order and institute some rules. Please make sure you read these rules and participate in the spirit of this community.
Rules for General Chat
-
Be respectful to each other. This is of utmost importance, and comments may be removed if deemed not respectful.
-
Avoid long drawn out arguments. This should be a place to relax, not to waste your time needlessly.
-
Personal anecdotes, puzzles, cute pics/clips - everything welcome
-
Please do not spam at the top level. If you have a lot to post each day, try and post them all together in one top level comment
-
Try keep things light. If you are bringing in deep stuff, try not to go overboard.
-
Things that are clearly on-topic for this board should be posted as a separate post and not here (except if you are new and still getting the feel of this place)
-
If you find people violating these rules, deport them rather than start a argument here.
-
Feel free to give feedback as these rules are expected to keep evolving
In short, imagine this thread to be a local community hall where we all gather and chat daily. Please be respectful to others in the same way
Nice. We can become bitter or we can be aware of why they want us to be bitter. We all have different abilities and attributes.
Little things.
No one knows how they will react to any situation until they are in such a situation.
The deny themselves is interesting. One could liken it to a fire fighter trying to rescue one being burned alive. A fire fighter devoted himself to be able to bear that cross. They train on what to do and also how to do. Sure a brave man can run into a burning building and save people without training, and many have and do and will continue to do so. All of those people will be very courageous-if they live or die trying to do so.
Those who have dedicated their lives to be a professional (servant) fire fighter are a different breed. Imagine a fire fighter saying to allow a person not be spared, knowing they are trained and knowing they can save that person.
This is the time we are in. The Christian people are being led by that outlook.
Just today I spoke to a man who is upset with the ways things are going and yet he blames Trump. I said to him, feelings are the way of the time now. Not truth. He might figure it out. Yet he is very bitter and blind, more than blind—he is burning with anger that is brought on by his ignorance of praying and searching… critical thought is something I believe God wants us to do. That gives us freedom and also gives us much of what we need to wake up.
People that refuse to accept truth always blame the one that is peaking truth to them.
Nicely put. I like that you brought up "bitterness" because it's something I've been reflecting upon for the past 2 weeks. I noticed it my family members and colleagues and found myself almost becoming bitter but quickly stopping myself. We have to take care of our heart because I saw how bitterness has ruined people. Being bitter and angry, yet blaming Trump, it's like their "higher self" being mad at themselves for being unable to see the truth right in front of their eyes,
So these days I pray like this for my loved ones and friends: Let them who have eyes be able to see, ears to listen, and a heart that can forgive, love, and accept Jesus as their Lord and savior.
