Not used to follow the storm season, but my girl moved to Fort Myers for the softball season. Is that path suspicious... check on accuweather: https://www.accuweather.com/en/hurricane/atlantic/td-14-2024

Central Florida here. about 20 minutes east of Bartow. Oh what fun!
It's very weird, opposite of what we are used to, but likely due to a front moving in for fall. Jet stream does move from west to east and the front is pushing down to the gulf coast next week. So we always knew it would push any storms east that otherwise would hit central gulf coast states.
Strange and uncommon path!
I live 35 miles from Orlando, just 8 miles from the Villages! I live in a Mobile Home community!
I have family on Tampa. God bless your safety..
God bless the west coast of Florida
Thanks!
Is it tracking to your side?
It looks a little north of Tampa! I'm 65 miles from Tampa!
stay safe
weird not tracking anymroe
Ok thats because it got named to Milton now
I live here. Helped with clean up on Ft Myers Beach. It was not a pretty sight but people should know better than to stay on the shoreline during one of these. Tell her to keep and eye on it. If it looks like it's taking the southern part of the cone, tell her to get a hotel somewhere inland. She'll be far enough away from the storm surge and majority of the strong winds from the initial hit. If she's anywhere near the shoreline, not a good idea. As long as she's inland, she'll be fine. I've been here for every hurricane since 2001.
Yeah i think her coach will take them away cause they are international students.
I've heard many times that the Disney park hotels are excellent places to ride out a hurricane, if you can get a room in one of them.
